A certain panic sets on in your mid twenties. The onslaught evoked from sitting in your office creeps its way into the back of your mind and rests there during work, while you prepare meals and even when you're out and about with friends. A classic case of 'FOMO' (Fear Of Missing Out). My husband and I were ravenous for a way to escape the brutal 9-5 rhythm we were trapped in. Each day was jam packed with work, eat, sleep and repeat for nearly two years and it was driving us mad. We discovered a fully mobile lifestyle about halfway through our time braving the city. Glimmering instagram pictures of couples on a seemingly permanent vacation twinkled before our hungry eyes with promise and mystery. We fell victim to the #vanlife movement and before we knew it, we were that strange household in the neighborhood with a giant cargo van parked out in front of our condo for our peers to gawk at. We would peek out the window to make certain it was real, and sure enough, there it sat in our driveway, waiting for adventure to spark. Nine months later we completed gutting, designing and renovating of our tiny home on wheels with big hopes to sail off into the sunset and experience all that was on the other side. This is our life. It can be bumpy and cramped at times, but the destinations that our home has carried us to continues to surprise us. Welcome aboard! |
